1. Introduce yourself(tell about yourself & who you are)
I’m Jenn! I was born in California but call OKC home. I work in retail and enjoy the expression of personal style, it’s like being a live museum! I love to laugh despite a snort I have and my hobbies include writing poetry, planting, and enjoying various types of art!
2. What are your passions in life that you’ve always wanted to do?
Art is a passion of mine. Personally I only partake in writing poetry mostly inspired by the times I’ve loved, but as a fan, I love concerts, film, museums, and plays. Art is a freeing way to express yourself both as a creator and a viewer/listener. Most of my friends are artists so it’s fun to witness their processes.
3. What are some goals in life you’d like to complete?
A goal of mine is to travel more often. I just returned from visiting Atlanta last week and it was a blast seeing so much culture and history of the city. There’s so much more to being in the middle of the map!
4. What is a positive message you’d like to share with people around the world?
Understanding that each one of us is existing with a tailor made purpose to impact this world is my positive message. Even if you don’t know what that purpose is yet, just knowing that YOU specifically being on this Earth means only YOU can fulfill that . Like how SPECIAL is that? How valuable and valid you must be. YOU MATTER!
5. If you could describe a perfect world, what would it look like to you?
It’s simple really. If we all just let each other exist without punishment for our skin, who we love, and for our body, I believe the world would be an easier place to survive in.
6. What are some mental struggles you’ve faced in life and how did you overcome them?
I have dealt with anxiety most of my adult life. It’s hard because going through the motions while knowing what anxiety is clearly (thanks professionally unused psych degree) causes me to not be so kind to myself and frustration kicks in. My faith brings me peace and grounding calms my physical symptoms, then writing or speaking to a loved one helps rationalize why the anxiety is taking place and then I’m okay!
7. How would you like to make an impact in the world if you could?
The world always seem on “go” and stopping despite issues can really hurt ourselves in the long run. I want to impact the world by being the person that makes someone else be at the moment, even for a moment’s time. I want to be trusted to give an ear or a hand to hold to just let someone be heard or feel present in the midst of a lot going on. It’s a simple impact but I feel it’s needed.
