Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: I go by the name Slicko and I’m a 22-year-old artist based in London, UK. I’ve spent my last 3 years in London looking to grow and develop myself as an artist and make new connections to take my musical career further.

My family moved to the UK when I was around 2 years old, so I’ve spent most of my life here with the majority of my childhood and teenage years growing up in South Yorkshire, which is where I first met the rap group MTID who put me onto the art after I expressed my passion for it.

I first started taking music seriously when I was around 16 but it has always been a fundamental element of my life since early, participating in school choirs and bands and often flirting around with writing when I first fell in love with hip-hop around the ages of 9-10.

Currently I am a rising producer/rapper/singer/songwriter and videographer!

What Inspires You Every day? : I often find inspiration mostly in the people around me. I like to keep like-minded and driven individuals for the company because it helps me focus on everything that I am trying to be myself. The stories and experiences that people hold are always so fascinating and prove that there’s so much more to this world than what we see with our own eyes. I love the people that I am surrounded by, I feel complete and whole at all times.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Absolute acceptance. I believe that the source of a lot of frustration in life is the refusal to accept realities and trying to force control when in truth control was never one’s own, to begin with. What truly matters is never what happened but how you allow that to affect you and the choices you make following.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal is to be successful in every area that I set my mind to. By success, I mean taking on a challenge and giving it my all until I feel satisfied with what I have contributed to greater humanity via that particular area or challenge. Right now it is to become the greatest artist that I can be, after that, we’ll see where the road takes us.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : The first stages of the pandemic were a bit of a shock to the system. Everything had changed all of a sudden and as a result, my creativity felt the harsh side effects. For a good few months I was unable to channel any art to the standard I used to be able to and as well that came with some damage to my mental health that I already struggled with. However, it pushed me to find ways to be creative without relying on old methods because they simply wouldn’t work anymore. As such, these days I feel it was an opportunity to grow and mature even in the face of uncertainty and adversity.

What is a message you would like to give others? : IF there is something in your life or not yet in your life but you 100% feel a passion for it and you feel that it is your calling, then absolutely do it. No matter what sacrifices you have to make, how scary it may be or how much others my discourage you, I promise you, you will never regret following your heart.

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: As I previously mentioned I am an artist and as such, I have recently released a mixtape ‘Cosmic Highway’, The project is self-produced and written by myself and details a trippy, neon-hued fused psychedelic trap-hop experience that will take you on a different kind of trip.
