Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: These are always super hard for me to do cause the second I start talking about myself is the second I start to feel full of myself and uncomfortable. But here we go, my names Jack Sehn, I’m currently a healthcare worker and also a musician of sorts.
What Inspires You Every day? : Somewhat generic answer but my family, my nephew and my friends. By design I have a tight knit bunch of friends I keep in contact with on the regular of people that inspire me and are always pushing for me to grow.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Every day I always try to remind myself “it’s not about the destination it’s the journey.” It helps me be more present, and really just kinda helps me slow down when I get stressed out about not being exactly where I want to be. I try not to wish any second of my life away in any given situation and try to find the fun in working toward where I want to be as opposed to wishing I was there already.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : I’ve been working on music for about 3 years at this point that nobody besides a select few have heard. I’m more of a short term goal kind of person cause I feel those are easier to check off as you go, the current goal is to beat the creeping insecurities and finally show the world even if few actually listen. The next would be finding musicians to form a band and play this music live when the world allows with friends, family, and friends from work all there to see it. That’s what has me most excited, this entire part of my existence that few actually know about and being able to share it. Almost like people you know finding out your super hero secret identity (not saying I think that about myself)
Ultimate goal? If we’re talking just dream scenario however unlikely it may be, opening for Third Eye Blind or the Goo Goo Dolls would be amazing. Coachella maybe?
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : Working, a lot. I’ve basically worked at a nursing home throughout the entirety of this pandemic thus far. I briefly took a corporate sales job thinking I’d be happier, but I actually preferred being back in the “front lines” you could say. So I didn’t last long, I was back at the home quick. As for how it’s affected me? Not sure yet, it hasn’t really caught up to me I’ve just been on one gear through the whole thing from a professional standpoint. There will be a lot of unpacking to do mentally once I’m able to take a breather after this. I’ve seen a lot of loss first hand. More than I could even count.
What is a message you would like to give others? : Don’t waste your time doing anything less than what makes you feel good.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: Not a whole lot, just that like the rest of us I’m still trying to find my place in the world but I don’t see it as a bad thing. Every day is kind of a new mystery, and I find a lot of excitement in the unknown.
