Realtor/Insurance Agent
I own a real estate/insurance company that is a “one stop shop” for all your real estate/insurance needs(auto, home, commercial, life & health). I also have created a study book to help prospective real estate agents pass the exam the first time!
I love to travel, bake and read. I’m a gentle old soul. I love helping people especially black people reach their dreams of owning a home. I am a hugger (pre-Covid) lol. I am mentally an introvert but my energy screams extrovert if that makes sense!
What Inspires You Every day? : God and people. I believe God has set me out to be great… and I always want to seek out that greatness within me as much as I can! Seeing others win, achieve goals, break ceilings, being proud of themselves. I love seeing people happy. Hearing ‘triumph stories’ as I call them, stories of no matter what was sent their way they pressed on and succeeded! That’s inspiring! Gives me hope! Puts me in that “I can do it too” mind frame. To know that God saw the greatness in me before I even began to understand me and who I am, that’s inspiring!
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: “And this too shall pass”… my mother used to always say this to me when I was having a rough day or in a rough patch of life. Constantly instilling in me that what I feel/am experiencing right now is not permanent. Take the lesson and learn from it.
“You should always be able to get some money from somewhere “ another mom quote lol … this one was deeper than just the physical dollar and geared more towards mentality. Meaning at any given time, I should be able to generate some money from the knowledge and skills I possess. Even if I hit rock bottom, you know how to pick yourself back up and get it going again!
“Eat the meat and spit out the bones” … someone I admire once told me this. Meat being the message/lesson, the bones being the person delivering the message/lesson. As sometimes, I tend to go off emotion and don’t fully digest the message/lesson being given to me either because of my emotions or the delivery, but in business and life you have to just take the message NOT the messenger.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : To be free… live freely, be unapologetically me freely, love freely, financially free, freedom of my time, free of past traumas, free in all aspects.
Oh and to design & own a houseboat and cruise the coastal countries of Europe!
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : Whew chile!!! This pandemic has made me see sides of me that had been dormant for quite some time… the resilience and tenacity within me showed up during the pandemic. I spent more time with me and my thoughts during the pandemic, allowing me the ability and time to strengthen areas of my life while also prioritizing others. Helped me see the things that I deemed “important” before needed to be rearranged on my priority list. I was in survival mode during the pandemic, that “do or die” mentality and I wasn’t ready to die so I had to step up for me… the pandemic also taught me that mental health is so significant and needs daily attention
What is a message you would like to give others? : Love you! Pour into you! Be kind to you! Never stop dreaming and believing in you. Block out the noise (social media, comparing your life/current state in life to others, opinions of others, negative energy) and focus on you, your goals and your happiness!
Also, write everything down! Every idea, goal, thought… from head to pen to reality! It’s amazing how getting it out on paper fuels you into action! And it’s also a good “pat on the back” when you go back to the list and realize how much you’ve accomplished!
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I’m not perfect… overall I love my life and the people in it. With everything, I’ve accomplished in life, I’ve prayed about it and believed I could! So I did!
