Carl’s goal in life is to become an engineer to better world for humanity.

Introduction

My name is Carl Anthony Kohnke, I’m from the California Bay Area. Currently I’m a student at the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering studying chemical engineering. My goal in life is to become an engineer to better world for humanity 😃

What inspired you to be an engineer?

Well, the simple answer is I love building things. Working with technology, chemistry, physics, and math are all things that I like doing, so to me it just made a lot of sense to go into engineering since the field uses all four.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?

One of my favorite mottos was one I got from Scouting, which is “Always leave a place looking better than you found it” That’s something I try to live by in my day to day life and it’s something that drives my career as well.

What is a positive message you would like to tell others?

When you find something you love, never give up on it! If you do your best no matter what, you will succeed in whatever you want to do.

What is a way you would like to contribute to the world?

My ultimate objective is to play my part in stopping climate change. Keeping the planet healthy and suitable for human life is an absolute priority in preserving our existence, so that’s something I look forward to doing.

Last question how do you feel about life and what are your plans for the rest of 2020?

Honestly I love life. Even though we’re all going through tough times we’ll all get back on track sooner or later. My plans for the rest of 2020 are to get involved in research, to keep up with my schooling, and to make some new friends 🤙🏼
