Tell about yourself, what is your background?

Hello hello!! My name is Yana Sperry and I’m a model! I was adopted from Russia at 6 months old, lived in Texas for a bit, then moved to Iowa.

What inspired you to get into modeling and how has that been for you so far?

I’ve always loved the creative aspects of fashion and modeling, but never had the confidence to try and go for it until about a year ago. Once I felt strong in my own skin, with practice, I have built a strong foundation for my future career! I was hand picked to go to Coco Rocha’s Modeling Camp in NYC, I’ve been to Chicago to work with big name photographers and I’m so excited to see what my next step is! 

What are some goals you have that you would like to achieve soon?

I’m hoping to get signed to an agency so I’ll get more job opportunities. I also dream to work with high end brands such as Mugler, Balmain, and Christian Siriano. 

What are some struggles you faced to be where you are now?

My main struggle is my location. Iowa isn’t known for being a fashion capital so it’s a little hard for people around me to understand my dreams. 

What is a way you’d like to make an impact in the world?

I would love to bring positivity to every aspect of my life. In such a dark world I want to remind people that there is light! I’d also love to be a safe space where anyone can talk about mental health, body image, LGBTQ+ related issues and sex positivity.
