1. Introduce yourself(tell about yourself & who you are)

hi! my name is Taj and i am 19 years old as of 2022. i grew up in Kennesaw, Georgia with my older sister (21), mom, and dad. i was (and still kinda am) a shy and quiet kid, so i got looked down upon a lot throughout my life. when i was 3, i started out dancing at this company called elevated places dance company, where i continued my dance career with the company for 12 years, until the company shut down in 2016. now, I do color guard (not rtoc, marching band), and i am in my second year of college majoring in dance at ksu!

2. What are your passions in life that you’ve always wanted to do?

I’ve always wanted to be a professional dancer of some sort. whether that’s being in a famous company, a choreographer, and it even goes as little as being an intern helping at a dance company.

3. What are some goals in life you’d like to complete?

I would like to graduate college to make my mom happy, do something with my dance major, and finally break out of my shy shell and be extroverted for once in my life.

4. What are some words of wisdom that motivate you every day?

“you can do it” “I’m proud of you” “you’re doing so well” “it’s okay, you’ll get through it!” “don’t doubt yourself, you got this”

5. What are your thoughts on today’s world.?

today’s world is WAAAAY different from when I was firstborn, in good ways and bad ways. good ways, we finally see the hellhole America is, and in bad, we finally see the hellhole America is!

6. What are some mental struggles you’ve faced in life and how did you overcome them?

well, my dad died in 2015, so that really messed me up mentally. i remember me and my sister were talking ab how he won’t be present for anything else up until that point. i overcame that by trying to push his death aside, so i don’t think about it unless i have to. i hate the idea of death and sadness, so i push aside any of those thoughts.

7. How would you like to make an impact in the world if you could?

i would like to make an impact on the world by showing people it’s okay to be different. being different embraces who you are and what you’ve been through. you don’t have to act a certain way to fit in with a group. if you have to act a certain way to fit in w someone, fuck them! go to some people who actually accept you for who you are!
