Aina Rahamefy: if you want to win, you have to start. So if you want to be champion, do your dream work or achieve your higher dream you have to dare.

1. Introduce yourself and tell a bit about who you are?

Ok, so my name is Aina Rahamefy, I’m 16. I live in France near to Paris. I am in terminal (french class system = 12th Grade High school). I love fencing and sport in general.

2. What inspired you to get into fencing how did that all start?

I started fencing at 6 years old , I was in a summer camp and they initiated me to this wonderful sport. When I come back home, I told to my mother to enroll me in the nearest club. So I put a step in Saint Gratien, and I never left it. (saint Gratien is my club btw)

3. What are some goals you have completed with fencing and what is your ultimate goal you’d like to achieve with it?

I already achieve some goal in fencing, this year I was qualified to four European cup in my category (u17), I participate to world school championships to, and I finish 3rd in individual, 1st in team in France, I was 4th in French national ranking this year

all this performance was my biggest success in my fencing little career😃 My ultimate goal I like to achieve is to win an Olympic gold medal and to be world champion

4. What is a message you’d like to give to people in the world who want to do the sport you do?

If I have a message to deliver to the people, is to dare things, because if you want to win, you have to start. So if you want to be champion, do your dream work or achieve your higher dream you have to dare.

5. What were some mental struggles you faced in life and how did you overcome it?

this year, I faced some disappointment related to my underperformance, but I just told to myself to don’t take it personally and keep focusing on your goals, so I came back at the end of the season with strong results like a 3rd place in national competition and 6th place in French championships

6. What is one way you’d like to make an impact in the world?

for the impact, I just do my sport, I want to win some title, so I could raise my name into the history

7. What are some other things you’d like to tell people about you?

I like to say “en détente” that’s mean “be relax” in French, cause I don’t want to wreck my head in my life. I just want to say to peoples to dare in everything’s which is important for them, but they have to be relaxed in their defeat because it’s raise you. So just enjoy your win and learn in your defeat. Work hard but take rest. Keep moving
