Hailey: Nothing should ever come before your mental, physical or spiritual health. Take time to rest, take time to do things that fill your cup, and remember to enjoy life.

introduce yourself(tell about yourself & who you are)

My name is Hailey and I’m 26 years old. I’m the Chief Administrations Officer at an incredible women-run business. My boyfriend and I have 2 puppies under a year that are my entire world. Training and caring for them is what I’m truly passionate about. We go on hikes and adventures every single day and that’s the good stuff.

What inspired you to get into the field you are in now and what does it all involve?

I’ll be honest, I took business in university on a whim. I had no idea what I wanted to do. I ended up specializing in Human Resources because I wanted to be able to help people in some way. Right now I do administrative work, Human Resources, social media management, bookkeeping etc. for our clients. I work for a business consulting company so we have a lot of different clients which keeps things interesting. It also helps that most of our clients are absolute powerhouse women ☺️

What are some words of wisdom you live by everyday?

Put yourself first, always. Society tells us that that’s  selfish, but it’s not..it’s self-love and care. Nothing should ever come before your mental, physical or spiritual health. Take time to rest, take time to do things that fill your cup, and remember to enjoy life.

What are some goals you want to further reach in your life?

My biggest goal in life would be to have a big property where I can rescue and rehabilitate dogs and find them forever homes. Nothing makes me happier than working with dogs, and I’d love to be able to do that full time at some point.

What are some struggles you faced in life and how did you overcome it?

I come from a very traumatic childhood. I was so depressed, angry, anxious and physically hurt my whole life until about 2 years ago. I started intensive therapy and started to work through everything I needed to. Started putting myself first. Caring and loving myself. It was hard.. to say the least, very painful. However, I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in my life now. Life is a journey and I’ll forever be working on myself, but I’m proud I walked through the fire, bravely, and did it for myself. I could never see a future for myself because I just didn’t think I would make it past 25…but life gets better. It really does.

What’s are your thoughts on the world today and how would you like to make an impact in your own way?

The world is terrifying right now. I think we’re at a place where things are either going to get even worse or people will come together and fight for the changes we all need. I struggle to stay up to date with what’s going on everywhere right now because it’s really sad. So for me, doing my part, looks like making an impact every day. Showing love and kindness to as many people in a day that I can. Compliments, smiles, advice, a listening ear – whatever I can do to help someone else feel heard and loved. The company I work for is launching a coaching program for women, and I can’t wait to work one on one with women who just need some help to navigate life.

Last question what else would you like to tell people about you?

Hmm.. I would say at the end of the day, all that matters is love. From friends, family, partners, animals, strangers, coworkers. That’s what will keep you going, that’s what will keep the world going. Love bravely and show everyone in your life that a little kindness goes a long way. ❤️
