Introduce yourself(tell about yourself & who you are)
Hey! I go by Lyrique. I’m from NYC and I’m a singer/songwriter. I’ve doing trying to build my music career up some more in the last 2 years. I’m Haitian America, and my culture is just as important to me as breathing. I inspire to promote love and kindness to anybody that hears my music or crosses paths with me. #Blessings
What inspired you to become a musical talent?
Being raised in the household i was in, it was pretty hard not to develop some form of talent. I was introduced to the keyboard at a young age, and during high school I was in choir at my school and at my church. Once i realized I actually was perfect at writing lyrics to melodies, I started to take it more serious. Havent looked back since.
What are some words of wisdom you live by?
Treat people how you want to be treated. Do everything you want to do no matter how big or small because tomorrow isn’t promised and last but not least, never give up even if you’re at the bottom of the barrel. The only place to go is up.
What are goals you want to accomplish with music?
I just want to put out music people can relate to when they hear it. Something they can vibe to and remember the first time they heard it. Help them get through whatever they are going through.
What some struggles you faced to be where you are now?
People will try and take and advantage of you when you are nice and humble. They will also low ball you because you aren’t a big name in limelights, but I never settled and never forgot that my talents and my character would always lead me to make the right decisions and network with the right people.
What is one way you like to make an impact in the world?
I want to give back to underprivileged children and abused women. Let them know they’re not alone and no matter what age can always live out their dreams.
Last question what else would you like to tell the world about you?
That I just like to make as many people genuinely happy that I come across.
