Introduce yourself?: Hello my name is Nia Ware. I am 14 years old. I am Puerto Rican and black.

What inspires you everyday?: The beautiful sound of music and the sight of colorful artwork inspires me. But it’s mainly love that is my everyday inspiration.

What is something you would change about people in the world?: I would change the fact that people as they grow and get older, the size of their heart would never change.

How do you feel about the people in the world?: I feel like people were born to have good hearts, with the aspiration to conquer the world, but as life goes on they either get hurt or put in a situation where they will get discouraged. I feel like that is what is causing hate and violence in the world today.

What is something you’ve struggled with in life?: Something I have struggled with in life would have to be my skin color. In my opinion, as I was growing up I realized that brown skinned girls weren’t looked at as beautiful girls that we are mainly because of our skin color. For example when I was in elementary school and a little bit of middle school, I was often bullied because of my skin and that I mixed but didn’t have fair skin. That obviously stopped because not only did I stand up for myself, I learned to learned to love and appreciate my beautiful brown skin and my ethnicity.

What is a positive message you would give others?: A positive message I would give to someone is not let the darkness of the world dim the beautiful, bright light that is shining in your heart and in your mind.

if you could make a difference in the world how would you do that?: If I could afford it or have the opportunity to do so, I would open more teen centers, community centers, homeless shelters, free clinics, support groups, and free therapy for children and adults. This would be the people who can’t afford it for themselves or others. I would do this because this would bring the community together and it would also lower crime and/or gang violence.
