Introduce yourself?: My name is Isaiah Solis. I’m a 19 year old musician and songwriter.

What inspires you everyday?: It may sound odd, but honestly just waking up and breathing. The fact that I made it to another day inspires me to get up and do something. Music has always been my number one passion and I hope to inspire artists the way others have inspired me.

What is something you would change about people in the world?: If I could, I would end racism, sexism, homophobia, or any other kind of belief/idea that is rooted from hate. We will never make progress as a human race if we still have hate in our hearts. Hate is what holds the world back from forward movement.

How do you feel about the people in the world?: I come in and out of losing faith. I believe there are a lot of good people in this world who have made very positive impacts. Artists, police officers, firefighters, doctors, and so many others help to make this world a better place each and every day. However, there are also many unfortunate events that cause me to question humanity and where it’s headed to. Why so senseless acts of gun violence still happen? Why are neo-Nazis and other hate groups still allowed to have a platform? Why do we have a president that essentially ran his campaign on bullying and boasting about a wall that would do nothing but divide us? These types of things make me question the overall state of the human race, but I will never lose hope in the power of love and unity.

What is something you’ve struggled with in life?: I’ve struggled with relationships, mental health issues, and skin conditions. I used to always put blame myself for anything that was out of my control. After going through some of the same problems again and again, I learned not to be hard on myself for the things I didn’t cause.

What is a positive message you would give others?: Let someone telling you that you suck be the reason you succeed far beyond your own capabilities.

if you could make a difference in the world how would you do that?: I’m going to work to bring as much art into the world as I possibly can. Through my band, my solo project, and co-writing, I’ll always be making sounds. I hope people stick around to hear them.
