Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hi! Im monke. I am 16 currently, and I was born in Bosnia And Herzegovina. I am a high school student at the moment, and I go to a school mainly focused on my profession, which is art! Most of my identity is being an all around silly and fun person, and im usually open to most ideas. Some of my favorite mediums are film, typography, writing, illustration and comics. Im the kind of person who would talk to you about your financial future in a inflatable Shrek chair.
What Inspires You Every day? : Honestly, due to my rapid and curious self, lots of things actually. Id narrow it down to about 4 things, those being comics, games, books, movies and sometimes just life in it of itself. I also get a lot of inspiration from random things I come by on a daily basis. Id say im a very spontaneous person when it comes to my influences in what I create. One of my biggest inspirations person wise would probably be Kentaro Miura and Bryan Lee O’Malley. Both have shaped my creative process significantly.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: I think everyone, no matter the field, should strive to be their own one person. I also think that creativity is one of our most powerful tools, and that everyone should use it to their advantage. I notice that a lot of people of my generation follow in the footsteps of those before their time, which is completely valid, but has sort of led to this safe and restrictive thinking pattern that has killed most sense of creativity and the ability to create. For me, creativity is bound to lead to one’s many failures, until the person gets it right without even noticing.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : Currently, finishing my graphic novel series and many like it. From there, id wanna do anything to entertain and learn from. Films, games, cartoons… Even ciggarette pakets. I just want to do most things a person like me can achieve from in the art department. My ultimate goal though is probably to be a recognizeable teacher and artist (& comic creator).
What are your thoughts on people who seek attention on social media, and what message would you like to give them? : Honesty is a dime a dozen today. I see attention seeking as an act of desperation. I think everyone needs a time to speak, a moment for expressing their beliefs. However, this new scene and trend heavy age has brought a lot of people to their lowest points. Doing almost anything, just to get big… Its comical and just sort of sad. My best bet has so far been hard work and luck. If you think killing someone for reputation that will be almost gone in a few years is a viable way, you need to rethink some things. Everyone can work it out somehow, but attention seekers are not the ones we should look up to.
How would you help people around the world who are going through mental health problems? : Mental health is somewhat of a overblown and heavy handed subject. Lots of people think they know mental health, when they actually don’t. Personally, im not well versed in mental health, but I try to help everyone from my friend and family circles. I hate to see others suffer, and I try to handle each case with consideration and care. Sometimes the situation is needed to be taken care of with a sense of humor. Other times, conversations have to be real and down to earth on most things. I would help them with smiley pictures in MS paint probably, or pay for their therapy. That works too.
How would you describe a better world for us all? : A world where all the nasty shizz melts away in a gasp. I mean thats an ideal one. However, thats a bit unreal. I think a better world would be a world where people can be happy, no matter the age. Where you can step outside like a drunkie but walk around like you have no cares in the world anymore. I think everyone should own a water gun instead of a real one. Maybe electric water.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I own a lot of wacky items. I think that owning or using something that brings you hapiness is essential. Whatever it may be, as long as its not human body parts. Share it with the world, or the black market. Oh also, I like monkeys. They are funny (monkey noises).
