Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: My name is Megan Turnbull I am 26 and I am from Glasgow, Scotland. I am a primary teacher who is passionate about children’s health and well-being. In my free time I am a fundraiser and campaigner for SAMH Scotland’s Mental Health Association, as this is a cause close to my heart. I have been working in partnership with SAMH for just over 2 years now. Alongside this I am a competitive cheerleader, I also enjoy hillwalking, the gym and travelling. I also study a Masters course part time which links with my current teaching role.

What Inspires You Every day? : I think for me it is just to be the best version of myself and to lead a happy and healthy life. Helping others also inspires me massively as there are so many people struggling in the current climate that a simple hello in the street can make someone’s whole day.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Definitely a quote from Walt Disney which says “have courage and be kind”. Growing up my family have always put a huge emphasis on being kind to anyone in any walk of life. The courage part helps me to try new things and step out of my comfort zone as much as possible. You only get one life so why not live it to the full!

What is your ultimate goal in life? : Health and happiness, the two things in this world that no amount of money or level of fame can buy.

What are your thoughts on people who seek attention on social media, and what message would you like to give them? : I would say focus on your life, your happiness and the things that bring you most joy. You will never lead a truly happy life trying to compare yourself to others or seek justification from likes on social media. Everyone is different and let’s be real, nothing is really as it seems in social media anyway. There’s only one version of you, and that’s something to celebrate.

What are your thoughts about people’s behavior from experience, and how would you help them.? : I think it’s the simple things that go a long way. It can be a text or a call to check and see how someone is to going out for a walk or socialising in groups that can help most. Even just someone to listen I’ve learned helps people more than you would think. It’s all about being realistic everyone has good and bad days, if you are there to really help someone you can’t only show up on the good days.

What qualities, traits or lifestyle you live makes you different from others in the world? : I mean everyone in the world is different, for me I just always try to look on the bright side, lift others up where I can and I am one determined individual. If I put my mind to something I will do everything to achieve it.

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: Just to believe in yourself, be kind, laugh, smile, travel, work have a balance of all the great things life has to offer.
