Name: Jason Stone
Social Media Handle/Username: @jasonstonenola
Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: i’m 42, living close to New Orleans, Louisiana. I’m a white male. about 6 feet and 250. I love food. I’m obsessed with bowling. I’ve been a pizza delivery driver for 17 years. video gamer. Christian conservative.
What Inspires You Every day? : Just being alive carries its own inspiration. God gave me life and I’m here for a reason. Remembering how abusive my childhood was, and how suicidal I felt as a teenager, I’m just blessed to still be here. Jim Valvano’s Never Give Up speech in 1993 saved my life, and this second chance made me understand that I didn’t have to follow in my dad’s footsteps of hurting people, but to be the best I can for myself and others.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Never Give Up. God has a plan for all of us and it’s up to us to believe in Him and follow the choices laid out for us as best we can. There is nothing placed in our lives that we can’t handle if we’re honest, and try to do the right thing. Always trust that things might get worse in the short term, but much better in the long term, so be patient. Life isn’t about the destination, but the journey you took to get there.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : there are three. First and foremost, be pleasing in the eyes of God. I hope He knows I love Him and that He’s proud of me. Second, to NOT be my dad. Lying, manipulating, stealing, and resenting people is no way to live. Physical aggression towards loved ones is an abomination. I’m thankful that God blessed me with the ability to see how wrong that is, and make the choice to be the exact opposite. Third, I want to be the best bowler I possibly can. My passion for the sport is second to none.
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : I’ve been fine. Never got sick. What has affected me are the lies and tyranny of city, state, and federal governments. They’re nothing but fear mongerers who want to control civilians and instill fear so they gain more influence and power over personal decisions. It makes me sad and angry that people have allowed politicians to have so much control over their choices involving medical decisions. That’s the real virus. Otherwise I’m not affected at all.
What is a message you would like to give others? : Think for yourselves! Never take the information you see on tv or on social media at face value. You don’t have to believe what I believe, but I hope you see or hear something, purposely research the counter to that point, and form your own opinion and make up your own mind. Never hate anyone for what they say, but rather what they do. Always remember, words only hurt you if you let them. It’s entirely under your control how you’re affected by language.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I’m a nobody. I’m a middle aged, white male, working a pizza delivery job, that has made plenty of wrong and immature choices along the way. I’ll never have life fully figured out, and that’s ok. I’ve lived through violence, resentment, jealousy, and abandonment. I don’t crave attention. My stamp on this world will be minimal, at best, and that’s ok. As long as I’m fair to others, then I’m happy to just live life through Christ’s love.
