Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: my name is Katalina, i’m a 24 year old biracial woman of trans experience. my day job is serving but when i’m not doing that i model.
What Inspires You Every day? : the children give me life lol i do what i do bc i want a better experience for the little trans boys & girls to know that we are* able to be unapologetically ourselves. trans rights are getting more recognition, but w that also comes more issues. we’re currently facing so many anti-trans bills. i’m honestly not that great at talking ab politics so i won’t get too much into it, but already there’s so much more trans representation than there was when i was younger, but we still aren’t where we need to be as far as understanding.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: live & let live. don’t settle. make your mark.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : to be a top model ofc, a wife, & most importantly a positive role model.
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : i’ve been kinda thriving in the pandemic.. it’s slowed things down career wise but everything i’ve done for my modeling career happened right before or during the panny. i went to LA for a modeling competition this past June when the restrictions were lifted, got featured in Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, & got casted for a reality series coming to rokutv. it’s given everyone time to sit back & breath. now let’s get the ball rolling!
What is a message you would like to give others? : you don’t have to understand something to accept it, not everything is meant to be understood. constantly question your own intentions & reflect on yourself before trying to change others. don’t loosely take mental notes on how to be politically correct, whether it’s someone disabled, POC, or the LGBTQIA or anything else really. ask yourself, “i’m touched, but am i moved?” & that will really kind of put things into perspective.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: my life is chaotic, i’ve had so many experiences to share, good & bad.. so don’t be so quick to judge, people have different ways of expressing themselves & we’re all driven by emotion. the emotion driving me is disgust.. disgust for where i am in life, for where others are in life, how they’re treated, etc. what drives you? im constantly working on myself & i advise everyone do the same. i’ll always fight for what i believe in &&&&& stay tuned, this is just the beginning.
