Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Well my name is Tyree, 23 year old singer/songwriter from Washington, DC. I’ve been singing since about 7 years old starting with Charlie Wilson’s “Charlie, Last Name Wilson” being the very first song that I learned word for word. I started writing my own records at about 14 years old. I’ve played about four instruments growing up and currently working on adding to that number with learning to play guitar which hasn’t been such of a joy if I may add.

What Inspires You Every day? : What inspires me every day is simply remembering what I want to accomplish. I think back and dig into that kid that I used to be. As kids, we all had this dream of whom we wanted to be and exactly what we wanted to do. For me I wanted to be a marriage counselor and please don’t ask me why, Of course as you get older things change and you lose control but it’s always important to remember that inner kid, everybody has one in them. Aside from that my family and peers inspire me every day. I know what kind of life I want myself and family to have, and I watch so many of my peers when it comes to their artistry and process and it makes me want to go harder as well, so I always carry that with me.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Words of wisdom I live by is “Praying through the process” , I heard an influencer say that a lot and I didn’t really know what she meant by that until I started to do it myself through my own personal life experiences. Another is always remembering that I have a purpose. I met a pastor at the time when I was dealing with some heavy trauma and the first thing she said to me when we first met was “Wow, you’ve got a purpose on your life, I see it and feel it all over you” that’s the first time I’ve ever heard that from someone and it made me feel very…different, in a good way. That has stuck with me since then and I always remind myself that these ideas and dreams that I have that God placed in my brain is all apart of my purpose and I’ll execute them very soon.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : Ha, my ultimate goal in life is to be successful in all the things that I want to do especially my music and songwriting. I want to be happy and at peace with life and myself. I’ve been through so much already just at 23 years old so I can only imagine what the next decade or two holds for me. I also want to buy a huge amount of acres to build single family homes on strictly for myself and my family, kinda like our own neighborhood. I want to be married some day with maybe one kid and be able to help others who’s been through what I have. I also want to have my own foundation, write a book, and have some investments as well.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : The pandemic hasn’t been easy for me just like everyone else. During this whole thing it has definitely tested me mentally and physically in ways that I wouldn’t have ever imagine. I’ve started to discover things about myself and others as well that I didn’t even know existed. I’ve learned that I didn’t have to be as strong as I always act all the time, that it’s okay to have feelings or not feel okay some days and have certain conversations that’s not often spoke about especially within the black community. It hasn’t been all bad though, I was able to write some new records, meet some new people via social media while building relationships, and coming up with new ideas and future business endeavors. You’ll get to see more of that really soon.

What is a message you would like to give others? : A message I would like to give others? I would have to say don’t feed into others opinions so much as I often do. Distance yourself as many times as you need to, don’t doubt yourself, pray through the process and keep fighting. Everyone isn’t gonna like you, seriously. There will be some people who don’t even know you and will simply dislike you for literally no reason at all. everyone isn’t gonna agree with you and that’s okay. Understand that as long as you understand, that’s all that matters. Protect your mind at all times as it will get clouded on numerous occasions and last but not least remember why your doing whatever it is that your doing, we all have a purpose in life. Find it and execute it!

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: Some other things I would like others to know about me is that I still have a long way to go and to just look out for me. I have so many things in store that I’m working on when it comes to me being an recording artist, songwriter, mental fitness advocate and even soon to be entrepreneur and author! I’ll be releasing my first EP “AYA” which I’ll be releasing the full title soon, finally shooting some new content. I can’t wait to share pieces of my life with you all and hopefully inspire some while in the process. No matter what anyone tells you or try to put on you don’t ever give up. If you knew me I would be the first to let you know that I’m far from perfect. So many people have told me that I wasn’t going to do this or that, and literally every single time I proved them wrong! I didn’t do it alone though. I thank the man above for that. Always stay humble and never forget where you came from, that’s what’s going to take you far.
