Joshua Herrera: I have learned that Life really does pass us by way too fast. If you aren’t Happy, then you more than likely aren’t making the most out of your limited time on this Earth.

Name: Joshua Herrera

Social Media Handle/Username: @josh62488

Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hello, I am Josh Herrera and I am a born & raised Austinite. I am part of the Human Race but I am mixed with Irish-American, Black Dutch, German, and Mexican Heritage that I know of. I love Live Music Concerts, Comicbooks, Movies, TV Shows, Traveling, Pop Culture Conventions, and meeting new people.

What Inspires You Every day? : I am very huge nerd ever since I rewatched old VHS recordings of Batman 1966 tv show that my grandfather made for me as a Child. Batman was my gateway into ComicBook/Superheroes and all of Pop Culture. I feel blessed to be alive during this modern era of Superhero/ComicBook movies being the dominating Blockbusters of Hollywood. These Heroes inspire me each day to be the very best version of myself.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Growing up, I was raised by Mother and Great Grandparents primarily. I was very blessed to have my Great-GrandFather & Great-Grandmother in my life at an early age to instill “Old School Morals/Values” in my upbringing as a child. They taught me that “Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones, But Words Will Never Hurt Me.” I think that is important life lesson for younger generation to learn in the modern social media age.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : My goal in life is simply “Be Happy” (Just like Beyoncé says in Pretty Hurts song). I want every single person in this world to be Happy as well. I have learned that Life really does pass us by way too fast. If you aren’t Happy, then you more than likely aren’t making the most out of your limited time on this Earth. As long as you aren’t hurting anyone, do what makes you happy. I continue to strive to achieve that goal and keep it.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : The Pandemic has been hard mostly on my loved ones and friends. I am a Home-body mostly but I do love meeting/hanging out with my close friends and family when possible. It’s been harder to get together through the pandemic and worrying about loved ones getting sick. I pray that everyone stays safe and healthy every day.

What is a message you would like to give others? : I know that 2020/2021 has been extremely difficult to navigate but we can all get through this together. I know that everyone is doing the best way that they know how to get through this pandemic but I want everyone to be United against this “invisible enemy”. I am inspired by Batman and I leave you with one of my favorite Batman Actors:

“ Men are still good, we fight, we kill, we betray one another, but we can rebuild we can do better, we will. We have to.”
Batman/Bruce Wayne/Ben Affleck in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I would like to remind everyone that September is National Suicide Prevention Month but we shouldn’t only spotlight this important issue one month a year. Suicide is a cause of death that is 100% preventable. Please take time to familiarize yourself with resources especially with American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Please share with anyone you know that could find this information useful.
