Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: I am a 21 year old psychology student from Essex, but I am currently studying in Birmingham. I am about to enter my final year of my degree and am looking to find a post grad job abroad as I love travelling. I have four siblings, (two brothers and two sisters) and I am the baby of the family. I also have two nieces, one of which is my age and my best friend.
What Inspires You Every day? : Last year during lockdown I went on a very personal journey in which I discovered so much about myself, which I’m sure many can relate to. I found myself loving meditation, manifesting and yoga. Since then I have started a podcast all focused on my personal spiritual journey. Since looking within myself I’ve realised the life I want to have and the person I want to be and I won’t let myself fall short of that. To be completely honest, I inspire myself and my ability to turn what was a low point in my life into a complete change of character shows me that I am capable of so much.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Some words of wisdom I live by is ‘what’s for you won’t pass you.’ One of my closest friends told me this and it’s stuck with me since. I am a very firm believer in fate and that everything happens for a reason and it helps me stay calm throughout a lot. I have a lot of faith that the universe is on my side and that I am going to end up exactly where I need to be with the people I’m supposed to be with. When you learn to detach yourself from people and things in your life and start to let go of the things you can’t control you will find so much peace.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal in life is honestly just to stay true to myself. I don’t want to get to the end of my life and feel like there was anything I didn’t do because I feared how others would perceive me. I don’t want to feel like I missed out on opportunities because I wanted to hold on to someone that wasn’t meant for me. I think if you stay true to yourself and stick with your gut, you’ll always end up on top. I know the life I want and by sticking true to myself I know I can get it. There’s no point living your life in the way that others want you to or you’ll never find true happiness.
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : The pandemic has definitely affected us all in different ways and hasn’t been easy for anyone. For me the pandemic really affected my uni experience, my first year got cut short and my second year wasn’t how it should have been. But I’ve honestly still had an amazing university experience and made the most of a bad situation. In a weird way I’m grateful for everything’s that happened because it helped me find myself in a way that I don’t think I ever would have without it. I am definitely not the same person I was before the pandemic and I’m sure many can agree with that.
What is a message you would like to give others? : A message that I would like to give to others is that people do not care as much as you think. People aren’t watching you and analysing your every move in the way that you might think. No one really cares if you wear the same top twice or what you’re doing in the gym. Everybody is too busy in their own head to be so fixated on you. And once you realise that, you’ll stop caring what people think about you so much and it will help you be your true authentic self. This is your life so stop living it for the approval of others.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: Another key thing about my life is that I love travelling I think it is the best privilege we have. To be able to travel so easily is honestly such a blessing and I think so many of us have realised just how much we took it for granted before the pandemic. The pandemic has definitely affected so many of my plans but I know I still have plenty of time to travel and do what I had planned. If you can do anything see the world, see as much of it as possible.
