Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: My name is DonnaMarie. I am from Brooklyn, New York and I am 16 years old.

What Inspires You Every day? : What inspires me everyday is moving out of Brooklyn to better myself. I feel out of place here and I feel like I would be able to flourish more in a different environment. I think New York City is a great place but I do not think it is beneficial for me. I would like to move to the Virgin Islands after I graduate from Medical school.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Some words of wisdom that I live by is Always do what you’re afraid to do. The outcome of anything can be good or bad but if you don’t at least try you won’t be able to get a good outcome with anything.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal in life is to be happy and be successful with my goals. I want to be happy with the people I am around and the environment that I am in. I want to be able to wake up and be happy that I have been able to take the steps to accomplish my dreams.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : The pandemic has been a good and bad experience for me. I have been able to learn to do things that I have always wanted to such as do hair. I have found that doing hair is something that helps me to relax and I am happy that I have found something to help me manage stress. On the other hand, I have lost or severed ties with many of the people I was close with during the pandemic because I was able to see their true colors while under pressure. This has made me sad for a portion of the pandemic but I would rather really know the people I’m around than the face that they put on for the world.

What is a message you would like to give others? : A message I would give to others is to make the best out of any situation. Some of the best memories you make can be out of a situation that you don’t want to be in.

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: Even though I want to leave from where I live at, I think it has played a huge role in developing my character. I think that I view certain things differently from people who live in different environments.
