Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hey, I’m Elle! I’m 17, live in New York, and have a passion for music and Photomontage, (moodboards and collages,) although becoming a singer songwriter is my dream. I’m full of energy and love meeting new people, although it can get overwhelming at times. I’ve been described as a cartoon character by my friends, so I think that sums up my character quite a bit.
What Inspires You Every day? : I’m inspired by the life around me, whether that be my family, friends, or a simple bluebird perched by my window. Every day I’m creating, whether that be a new art piece, a few verses or chorus to a melody I’ve constructed; just about anything I can think of. Life creates so many wonderful things, I want to celebrate that and be thankful for what I have.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: My motto, (something I wish I learned sooner,) is: don’t ever feel trapped, because you’re not. That could apply to just about anything, whether that be school, a job you hate, a toxic friendship/relationship, creative ruts, ect. You have the power to change your mindset or current circumstance to improve your wellbeing.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : Besides my bucket list of things I want to do before I take my curtain call on life, I really want to inspire people with what I create. Music especially has gotten me through some seemingly impossible times, and even though I can’t physically do this, I want to make things that provide people a shoulder to lean on. Something that inspires hope in others to pursue what they love. Isn’t that why we’re here, after all?
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : Physically, I’m alright, thankfully. No one in my family has suffered from the virus (knock on wood.) Mentally, that’s a different story. At the beginning of the pandemic, I had just exited an extremely toxic and harmful relationship, and the isolation didn’t help my recovery at all. I lost many relationships and became very lonely, but fortunately that gave me time to improve myself and reflect. Now I’m happier than I’ve ever been and have rekindled many of the relationships I lost.
What is a message you would like to give others? : Just enjoy everything you have. Appreciate everything given. It took my so long to learn that, I wish I hadn’t taken so much for granted. Life is very short and unexpected, so try to live your life how you want. Live a way that you can one day look back on and smile upon.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I dont have much else to say, except thank you for reading! My twitter was linked, but if you ever need someone to talk to, my instagram is @im.elizabeth.rose . Make sure you read the other interviews as well, they’re so inspiring. arrivederci!
