Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hi! I’m Abigail but I go by Abbey. I’m 19 years old, I’m from Dallas, Texas, I’m an upcoming sophomore in college majoring in Criminal Justice aspiring to be a future FBI agent. I’m just your average short, sassy, high maintenance, courageous young woman! Fun fact that not most know about me: I’m adopted with a biracial family, I’ve been with my family all my life so I know nothing else besides the family I was blessed with. I have 2 younger brothers that are 16 & soon to be 13 years old so I’m the only girl. I’m definitely a unique human being to say the least, I love being able to make everything happen, whether it’s for myself or for others I’m definitely the go getter that keeps giving and trying until I’ve completed what needs to be done. I would say I love people and being able to be a light in their life in anyway I can be.

What Inspires You Every day? : Everyday I wake up knowing I had the chance to even wake up. God gives me all the strength, energy, love, and power I need to know that I have a purpose on this earth and that’s what keeps me motivated.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: “Stand In The Greatness I Know You Can Be.” A quote one of my previous high school coaches would tell me when he knew I was doubting myself and everything I was capable of. I’ll forever live by his words.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal in life would definitely be to make sure I live my life. That sounds really cliche but I’m 19 years old now and growing up I was forced to grow up fast and not enjoy my childhood so being older now and having more freedom I can actually live my life. I just want to make sure I stick to my plans, make sure I’m always healthy and happy, and to make sure I always make myself proud.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : I’d say the beginning of the pandemic was a rollercoaster ride as I was in my senior year, I’d just turned 18, had been in a mentally abusive relationship, while dealing with depression everything was just thrown off balance. Fast forward as the pandemic has eased up a bit lately life’s been amazing, I’m happy, I’m healthy, I’m blessed financially, education wise, physically, mentally, life’s been great.

What is a message you would like to give others? : No matter the obstacles whether public or private you keep trying and don’t ever let anyone or anything stand in your way. Have the strength and patience to know you’re absolutely capable of anything with God everything is possible. Do everything with grace and a clear mind and heart!
