Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hi ! I’m Kelisa Solomon and I’m 20 years old. I’m a kindergarten teacher and currently in college. I love outdoor activities, being surrounded by nature makes me feel free and happy. I also love children, animals, literature and art. What’s I’ve been interested in lately is astrology, so I’m now getting into it because it just speaks to me.

What Inspires You Every day? : Life is such a beautiful gift, almost anything inspires me to keep going daily, like knowing each day the sun will rise which is proof that I can try again. Seeing a plant grow reminds me that everything takes time and one day I’ll be exactly where I’m supposed to. But most of all, I’ll say it’s the children I work with ! Knowing that I’m responsible for their knowledge, teaching them values and being such an impact on their lives helps me to have confidence and strive to be a better person each day.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: “Everything happens for a reason.”
This is a statement I once heard from my Grandpa, and at the moment he said it I didn’t quite understand what he meant but I just copied it anyway and it said it to myself whenever bad things happened to feel better….that’s when I realised that everything does happen for a reason indeed. Like it may not be something good, but whatever happens in life leads you to a path you’re supposed to be on. I believe that we don’t meet people by accident, or we don’t just choose something or end up in a situation, it all has a story to tell that was already aligned by the universe. So “Everything happens for a reason!”

What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal in life is to be happy and free. I just want to be comfortable, spreading love and kindness and ensuring everyone around me is the same.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : When the pandemic first started I’ve been trying to make lists of stuff I can do to keep myself occupied and not fall into a state of anxiety and depression. I made a weekly detailed list of stuff to get done like:
1. Wake up
2. Go outdoor for fresh air
3. Listen to indie folk music
4. Paint a picture
5. Talk to your friends
6. Take a nap
7. Dance around your room
…… but even after a while I still felt trapped, so I just allowed myself to cry, feel lost for abit and accepted that this is life and we can’t control everything that happens. I lost myself for a few months, but then I started to talk with my friends more, meet new people via online and we all shared our different feelings. Also the pandemic made me closer to music, whenever I couldn’t control or define how I felt the music just spoke to me. The Korean Band “BTS” helped me alot, they created music that speaks about mental health, comfort and not being alone. Connecting to them made me feel so safe, and listening to their stories inspired me alot.

What is a message you would like to give others? : Treat people with kindness ! It doesn’t matter how you’re feeling, kindness costs nothing. A simple word of positivity or a smile can mean alot to someone because you never know what someone is going through. So spread love and be kind 🙂 .

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I have three cats that I adore so much and two dogs ! My cats are Olivia, Peanut and Emelie and my dogs are Sparkle and Stormi.

I enjoy painting random pictures I cannot explain and looking at pictures of the galaxy. It makes me feel free like there’s endless possibilities. Also here’s a
