Social Media Handle/Username: @Morisontehya
Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: My name is Tehya Morison and I’m a senior and go to school in Arizona. I’m from Hawaii and grew up in southern Indiana. I’m studying towards my photojournalism major and minoring in business. At home I have 2 younger siblings and my parents and I have a cat named Toffee!
What Inspires You Every day? : The idea that one day I’ll have my own place, married, and have my own family keeps me going everyday. I have a boyfriend that works hard and we’re working together to build our future.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Some words I live by are “if you want it done right do it yourself” because nobody is going to get what I want and what I need like I will.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal in life is to live a comfortable life. I don’t dream of a certain career. I want the times of having vacations with my family and the weekends of doing something fun together.
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : The pandemic has made me depressed not gonna lie. Summer of 2020 didn’t make it better. Since I’ve had so much alone time at a college in another state I’ve learned to love company and the value in having family around me. I’ve learned I hate being alone. I’ve done a lot thinking and realization about myself and I don’t wish for my life to just be work. I use to want my hobbies and work life together so I love what I do. The idea of working everyday, all day, at a “dream job” seems meaningless to me now. I want to travel and have a family and have a completely separate life from work.
What is a message you would like to give others? : For those of us in our 20s and even teen “adults” (18-19) everything seems like it needs to happen now. Nobody is in a rush for anything. Take your time.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I struggle with anxiety and I freak out of everything isn’t going as planned. I’m working on it, but it’s not easy. The pandemic has affected my anxiety making me more anxious almost daily. For those who struggle with anxiety like I do, keep pushing. Do what you need to do for a healthy outlet. I like to draw, watch anime and workout to cope.
