Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hi! I’m Taly and I’m 21 years old. I live in Western Australia and I love dogs, video editing, listening to music, and am interested in animal science and hope to become a veterinary assistant very soon.
What Inspires You Every day? : Music. More specifically, BTS. Their music inspires me and I really look up to them as people and as artists. They really love what they do and use their platform to send out a message in which million’s can resonate with. They address important topics in their music like mental health and I think that’s something that is incredibly important. Not only does their music inspire me, but they inspire me as people too. They are so kind and humble, and they always give back in any way it can, whether it be them donating to an important cause, or writing and producing music profit free for their fans and uploading it to soundcloud. If you don’t know who they are, please look them up with an open mind. They’re not like your typical boy band, and their fans are actually extremely diverse.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: “The morning will come again.
No darkness, no season is eternal.”
Song: Spring Day
What is your ultimate goal in life? : To achieve something significant that I can be genuinely proud of when I look back on it. Not only that, I also want my family to be proud of me. Loving myself fully is also something I wish to someday achieve. Loving yourself is not something that can be easily done, and I think it could ultimately be my hardest challenge in life.
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : Even before the pandemic, I was someone that usually kept to myself and didn’t go out unless I absolutely had to (work, shopping etc), so I wouldn’t say it has really affected me in terms of doing recreational activities. Seeing my loved ones has become more of a challenge because of the pandemic though, and I can definitely say that has affected my mental health quite significantly. My family is very important to me so being seperated from them for longer periods than I am used to has been quite hard for me. Seeing how the rest of the world is affected too has taken quite a toll on me as well. Seeing people suffer either with the virus or from losing a loved one or their job is hard to see as I am a very empathetic person. We really need to give our appreciation to all of the health workers out there because they’re giving their all to help those in need during these difficult times, and even putting themselves at risk in the process. Everyone reading this, please be responsible and wear a mask. You could be saving someone’s life and prevent the spread by doing so.
What is a message you would like to give others? : Be kind to others and try your best to educate yourself on things going on around the world right now. You never know, you might be able to help in some way. Even a little can amount to a lot, so give what you can when you can.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I’m just an ordinary 21-year-old woman, living in a world full of injustices and I hope things can get better. I guess I’m not really that interesting, I don’t get out a lot but I know I’m a good person and I have dreams just like anybody else.
