Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hello, my name is Reece.
I would have to go through many things to introduce myself properly. I’m just gonna say that I love music so much, singing is my passion. I’m really bad at this sorry…
What Inspires You Every day? : My inspiration comes from people and music. There are many stories behind every single person and every single song that you just don’t realize how hard life is until you deep listen to them.
My main inspiration is Selena Gomez, she’s been through so much in her life. It amazes me that she’s still out there telling her story and she’s brave enough to share it with us. Listening to her has helped me and stopped me from doing things. I say it every day, if it wasn’t for her, I’d be dead right now.
My mum also helps with this. Her life has been so hard that she just keeps trying over and over. No matter what happens, her strength is unbreakable.
I think everyone should have an inspiration because that’s what keeps you stay.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: ‘Revival’ by Selena Gomez speaks through my knowledge of life. I can feel every single lyric and the pain. It tells me exactly how I feel and what I want to say. That album is the album I’ll be listening to for the rest of my life. You guys should give it a go. It’s so personal and deep.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : Honestly, all I want is to be happy. My mental health is constantly betraying me. I can’t wait to get rid of the demons inside my head and finally live in a place where I don’t feel judged. I just want to be an ordinary boy with an ordinary life, as simple as that. The path is hard but I just have to work it out.
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : It helped me to avoid some situations. I get really anxious around people and the fact that there’s a global pandemic happening right now, helps me to gain a bit of confidence back as I don’t have to go out and bump into thousands of people.
I also was diagnosed with Misophonia years ago so I was happy I didn’t have to deal with people constantly triggering me. That’s my main fear as I can’t just run away when I’m at work or College. COVID-19 stopped the world and people like me could enjoy a bit of silence and time for ourselves.
However, at this point I just want to go back to normal gradually and see how I feel facing some scenarios.
What is a message you would like to give others? : Validate your thoughts. Try to write down the mess you’ve got in your head and organise it. Once organised, focus on those things that require a special treatment. Start from the less important ones till you reach the big ones. If you know what you got it’ll be easier for you and for people to help you.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: My life has always been a real mess since I can remember. I didn’t have a happy childhood, my teenage years didn’t improve the situation and now that I’m a grown man, well nothing has really changed. It’s just getting worst, that’s why I want to encourage people to get help as soon as they can. Don’t be like me, I should have listened to people earlier. Now it’s not late but I could have avoided many struggles.
I have been writing about my life for 3 years now and I really hope that when I stop writing, there is a happy ending.
