Name: Vivien

Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hi, my name is vivien im soon turning 18 and im from Hungary. I moved to malta about 9 years ago with my parents. When we moved out here after a year my parents got a divorce unfortunately, and my mum got together with someone who has a kid, shes my stepsister now and i love her like shes my blood, she’s 14 but i can talk to her like shes my age. I’ve been through some really tough things in my life but im glad i made it out with the help of the amazing people around me. Im going through something at the moment too but im getting better day by day. My friends are my everything, they make me the happiest and I don’t know what I would do without them.

What Inspires You Every day? : I don’t have anything specific, but i think just that fact that i want to be the bet version of myself very day. I want to live every moment to the fullest and be happy no matter what. I want to stop caring about other people’s opinions and focus on finding myself.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: “Maturity comes when you stop making excuses and start making changes”

What is your ultimate goal in life? : I really want to move to America one day, its been my dream since i was a kid. It would be amazing if I could do that with my friends but if not I’d be grateful to do it by myself too.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : Honestly in the beginning it was fun i liked it but its been a year and in malta the cases are going up a lot we are in our second wave and its worse then that first one, everything is closed you can’t go anywhere and im going insane. It’s getting really hard and I just want to enjoy my teenage life but unfortunately I can’t right now.

What is a message you would like to give others? : That no matter what happens in life there’s always a bright side to things, even if you think that this is the worst thing that can happen to you and you feel like you won’t make it through this, just remember to look at the bright side of things and something else that’s important, make sure that you are your own safe place, you are the one that makes you feel at home. Dont get attached to other people in that way because you will end up relying on them to be happy and if they leave you will be left there with nothing. Finding yourself and having self love is one of the best feelings you can have and if you have that no matter what you come across in life nothing will stop you and you will always be happy through every situation.

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I have a lot of stories to scare but one that effected me the most was when i had an eating disorder a few years ago. My dad was with someone for some years and she was really toxic, she tried to control me, tried to take my mums place and she did things that made me be scared if her, every day after school I would go home not talk to her and stay in my room and starve myself to sleep just because I didn’t want to see her, thats how scared i was. Thankfully my dad left her im better now and I’m a wonderful relationship with my dad since. Its hard to stop something like this because once you did it in your life its easy to fall back again, ive been going through some really hard times lately and i fell back into it a bit I don’t starve myself but my brain just ignores my stomach calling for food, when i do eat its a very little portion because ill get sick fast, but im trying to get better and deal with my issues i am currently trying to find inner self love and acceptance, once I achieved those i will be the happiest I’ve ever been 🙂
