Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: My name is Karla Jordan. I’m a fiction writer. I live in the beautiful state of Maine with my husband auctioned our two fur babies. We also are blessed and honored to have four children between the both of us.
What Inspires You Every day? : My daily inspiration are words from my grandmother. She taught me to read at a young age and brought me every Saturday to the small library we had in our town. “Be Still & Don’t Quit” is my motto that inspires me when the going gets tough. She told me that and I hear those words every day, even though she hasn’t been with us for forty years.
What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Everyone deserves to be happy. Everyone deserves a chance at making their dreams come true. Be good to be people, and they will either be good to you or if not, you don’t need them on your journey that we call life.
What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal in life has been to first be a good person. Be someone that others can look up to and count on when they need it most. That being said, my personal goal is to hold my published book in my hands (the first of many hopefully) and know that I followed my dream and made it a reality.
How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : I think the hardest part about the pandemic has been the isolation. People need people and so many of us have had to be without that human interaction. I’m looking forward to the day when we can all gather with our family and friends again. And hugs! I’m a hugger and I sure have missed giving those!
What is a message you would like to give others? : My message for anyone reading this interview is to try to be the kind of person you respect in others. I hope when the day comes that my time on earth is up, that people can say I was there for them with an open heart. If you do that, you’ve succeeded, in my opinion.
What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I’m the oldest of five daughters. I’ve just witnessed the first female VP of the United States. I’d like for people everywhere to know that whatever your dreams are, don’t stop chasing them. Life is much too short to wait for someone to knock on your door with whatever dream you are pursuing. Go chase that dream! It’s okay to get down or discouraged but always, always pick yourself up and move forward. Quitters never win. Winners never quit. My Dad, the wisest person I know, told me that “There is a path to the finish line…you will find it.” I know he’s right and I hope others can use that to inspire them as well.
