Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: I’m a science fiction writer who lives in Chicago with my fiancée, Kim. I recently had a book voted Best Sci-Fi Novel of 2020 by a readers’ poll, so that was cool. Other than that I love to cook, listen to music from all over the world, and, obviously, read.

What Inspires You Every day? : That one’s easy. My fiancée makes every day worth living. She is my emotional support animal and biggest cheerleader.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: If someone shows you who they are, believe them.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : I suppose I’m boring here. Like almost every fiction author I would love to see my work interpreted for other media, whether it be television, film, video games, or anything else that pops up.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : While I’m not a fan of crowds I do like people. Not being able to socialize has been hard. I especially miss the Sunday School Kids, my tiny humans, and being able to go to church in general. While prayer may be private church is community. I also miss the kids I used to mentor at the library.

What is a message you would like to give others? : While they might not agree on many things all major religions have a golden rule – do unto others as you would have them do unto you – so clearly that was important to God. Treat people with kindness and everything else will work out.

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I’m a 6’5″, 59 year old, toddler. I like bad jokes, cartoons, making rude noises, and snuggling with Kim.
