Name: Ezra Amara

Instagram Handle/Username: ctrlelt

Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: I’m an aspiring music artist from Dallas, Tx. I don’t fall in any particular genre, rather try to implement all types of sonic influences in my art. Some of my favorite artists ever are Sade, Amy Winehouse, Miles Davis, Andre 3000 and Young Thug.

What Inspires You Every day? : I think the world offers inspiration everyday. It could be anything really. The movement of water can give me a feeling I’d like to recreate through music, making whatever I want sound like nature. Notable people that inspire me would be Malcolm X and Kobe Bryant. Furthermore, the recent passing of my father has given me a drive and form of inspiration like no other. Having pain be my driving force of all that I create has been a great healing tool that I use to try to honor him.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: Kobe Bryant said “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great at whatever they want to do.”

I feel that our responsibility as humans is to serve and protect one another. If I can offer a form of inspiration to someone, that gives them to the opportunity to feel whole.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : My ultimate goal in life is to be the greatest I can be in the service of art. In a lot of ways, music has very well saved my life. It is only right to dedicate my entire life to the thing I love the most so that I can contribute something great, something that can last and be remembered forever.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : The best way to describe myself right now is chaotic. I’m both the best and worst I’ve ever been, but I try to focus on the positive more than the negative.

What is a positive message you would like to give others? : Believe in yourself, even when nobody believed in you. You will be the only one that remembers your path so make sure when it’s all said and done, you have nothing to regret.

What questions would you like to ask others?: What makes you feel complete?
