Name: Natalie

Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: i’m a 19 year old 2nd year university student in manchester UK.

i’ve only recently come to the realisation that i am genuinely happy and content with my life for the first time that i can ever remember. for the longest time i’ve suffered with mental health issues but after moving back out of home and miles away to my university house surrounded by people i have chosen to live with i feel like i’m thriving more than ever, it makes me feel slightly guilty that i feel this way during a global pandemic but i suppose it’s just the way the world works.

What Inspires You Every day? : i was brought up by a single mam on a council estate, often people stereotype these kind of people to be delinquents or to turn to a life of crime, knowing i’m defying these stereotypes and making my family proud inspires me every day.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?:“everything happens for a reason” , even if you find yourself going through a tough time i can promise you it’s what the world intends for you and you will eventually become the person you are meant to be because of it.
i know i wouldn’t be who i am today if it wasn’t for everything that has happened to me.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : as shallow as it sounds, i just want to be in a position where i am always financially safe. to be able to live a life not having to worry too much about money.
i’m hoping that once university has finished me and my friends can get jobs and hopefully be able to stay in manchester city together (as we are all from different parts of the UK)

What is a positive message you would like to give others? : love yourself! you’re amazing and have come so far! never forget to look back on all you have achieved and be proud of yourself.
something i have also learned is that you cannot depend on the love of another person to make you happy, you need to be your own happiness first.

What questions would you like to ask others?:how have you been during the pandemic and how has it effected you?
